I moved.
Yup, I did. Well, we did. My brother and I.
We've never had to deal with halloween before, being from the "cuntry 'nd all", and then living in appartments. Hence, neither of us thought to buy candy on October 31.
ooooops. big mistake.
I was cooking in the kitchen when we heard our first cries of "Trick or Treat!" coming from the neighbours' houses.
So what did we do? Yup, we proceded to run around the house, shutting off all the lights, and hiding in the living room. (we're adults, really! I promise)
(it was suggested that we invite them in to our basement to find some "treats" there, but I decided that doing that would yield unfavorable results... .... the police come to mind...)
The whole thing was retarded. We had NOTHING in the house to give them (except granola bars and apples...), and so my brother and i tried to cook macaroni and eat and exist without any lights on, and without showing the little dressed up children that we were home.
Next year, even though Halloween is not my favorite event of the year, I'm going to buy some candy so that I don't have to hide behind the fireplace in the living room with the lights off. I'm going to buy enough so I can cook supper without running away and burning the cheese sauce on the stove. Then I'm going to run away and hide.
But at least I'll have eaten.
